This melody and anthem were commissioned in 2021; the text, by Susan Palo Cherwien, was commissioned for the 25th anniversary of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians in 2011. The hymn describes God’s call as a song that sings creation into being, a song that is echoed in our grateful praise of God and loving relationships with one another. The music is largely 2-part mixed, with an expressive third stanza set for SATB voices a cappella.

Commissioned by University Lutheran Church, East Lansing, MI, in honor of Kristie W. Wiggert and her 50 years as organist, 1971—2021.
