This Christmas concertato combines All This Night My Heart Rejoices/WARUM SOLLT ICH, sung by the choirs, with Once in Royal David's City/IRBY, sung by the assembly. The assembly's two stanzas of Once in Royal... respond to the text sung by the choir. The children's choir (or soprano section) sings the melody of WARUM SOLLT ICH.

Written for Christmas Eve 2007 at Westwood Lutheran Church (Minneapolis, MN), and dedicated to Dr. Kristina Langlois, friend and colleague.
