Brian Wren's hymn focuses on the communal nature of Christian worship, centered in the cross and the celebration of communion. Though this exuberant choral setting of Wren's text and its tune (DOVE OF PEACE) can be quickly learned, there are some delightful moments of text painting, particularly in the third and fifth stanzas. Thematically appropriate for gathering, communion, Christian unity, and confession/forgiveness.
