This hymn anthem sets one of two tunes commissioned for Susan Briehl's text "God Alone Be Praised," inspired by Psalm 46. The text, tunes, and anthem settings were commissioned by the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, in honor of its 30th anniversary (1986-2016) and the 500th anniversary of the Reformation (1517-2017).

A finalist for the 2024 American Prize in Choral Composition.
